The 26th W.C. Handy Blues AwardsCongratulations to Gary for Winning the W.C. Handy Award for "Best Comeback Blues Album of the Year"

The Handy Awards celebrate excellence in the performance and recording of the blues, and is the highest honor bestowed upon artists in the genre.

"... But, I'm telling you right now, the dance floor was never so packed all night as it was when Gary U.S. Bonds and his band broke into their second song of the night - his hit from 1960, "New Orleans." Before that, he sang the Otis Redding classic, "Dreams To Remember" from Bonds' Back In 20 album, which won the Handy for Comeback Album of the Year. Gary was all smiles, clearly enjoying being embraced by the Blues community." -- "T-Bone" Erickson (from the Blues Foundation website)
